IMG_0204-1.jpgMy inspiration to paint came while grieving the death of a close friend.  Though I had taken a few art classes in college, I had never painted before and was a bit surprised by my compelling desire to do so.

I continue to paint because it offers me indescribable balance and relief.   It allows me to accept and resolve the things that I perceive to be chaotic and imperfect and through grace find an authentic purpose, a harmonious arrangement to it all.  When I am able to trust that grace, that creative energy, then it simply becomes a matter of showing up at the canvas to quiet the chatter in my head.

My studio at the Essex offers a wonderful place to paint among a community of other artists. I am a member of the Essex Studios Artists Guild and currently have work exhibited at the Kennedy Heights Arts Center in Kennedy Heights, Ohio, where I am also a member of the Kennedy Guild.    A series of my work was recently exhibited at ONE in Notting Hill ~  London, England.

“To fall asleep at the end of the day enveloped in reflective gratitude is something I work toward each day; thankful for the inexplicable peace that painting offers me and grateful to have the opportunity to paint.”  mb
